Meta gear shows the actual gear worn by top-ranked WarcraftLogs players, aggregated daily. The methodology page is completely transparent about how the data is collected and what its limits are.
Game metadata comes directly from Blizzard Entertainment's official API. Top-player gear statistics come from the WarcraftLogs API — we fetch the top ranking page for each boss every day at 00:03 KST, dedupe by character name, server, and region, and aggregate from there. Collection cadence, sampling method, and known biases are all documented on the methodology page.
