What is BISPath?
BISPath is a gear analysis tool for World of Warcraft players. While other guide sites hand you a final BIS list, BISPath focuses on the middle steps — the path to BIS. Sign in with Battle.net and BISPath reads your current equipped gear through the official Blizzard API, then tells you what to farm this week, which crafted items to prioritize, and when to commit to your tier set 2/4-piece bonuses. The Journey view guides new and returning players through post-max-level progression week by week, while the Planner lets you manage gear plans for multiple characters or your entire raid group in one place.
Features
- Gearing Journey — Week-by-week activity guide after hitting max level, tailored to your current item level
- BIS Planner — Per-spec optimal gear, stat priorities, trinket rankings, and upgrade path planning
- Meta Gear — Aggregated real-world gear, enchants, and gem combos from top-ranked WarcraftLogs players
- Raid Group Sharing — See your entire party's gear, missing enchants and gems, and role gaps at a glance
Data Sources and Collection
Game metadata (items, classes, specs, stats) comes from Blizzard Entertainment's official API (profile and static namespaces). Top-player gear statistics come from the WarcraftLogs API — we fetch the top ranking page for each raid boss and Mythic+ dungeon, deduplicate entries by character name, server, and region, and aggregate the gear actually worn in those logs. Collection runs automatically every day at 00:03 KST, and the sample refreshes as new logs are submitted. BISPath is not affiliated with or endorsed by Blizzard Entertainment. World of Warcraft and related trademarks are property of Blizzard Entertainment.
Editorial Principles
BISPath's stats come from top-ranked players, which means following them blindly can mislead newer players. Top-ranked players already have fully developed gear sets, and their picks can skew toward one content type (raid or Mythic+). We don't hide that bias — we describe it on the methodology page, and our BIS notes explicitly include cases where you should NOT chase the raw top pick. When data changes, we state why. When our methodology changes, we update About and the methodology page first. Error reports and correction requests are welcome.
